Dear delegates:

It is truly an honor for me to welcome you to the model of the United Nations’ Security Council in HIDALMUN 2015, during these days we will be discussing and understanding the contemporary issues of the world we live in, for only by thinking beyond frontiers we will be able to achieve one of the main goals of the United Nations: the safeguarding of international peace.

As your president, I courteously request your full commitment and participation in this committee in order to seek feasible solutions. I also trust that you all will successfully fulfill your duties as representatives of your respective nation.

It is also important to mention that it is expected for all of you to gain awareness regarding the current difficulties in the international scenario, but most importantly to be become defenders of the world.

Herbert George Wells once said, “If we don’t end war, war will end us”. Delegates the world needs a real change, and it is up to us to continue the pursuit of it.
